Tracereporters –As Women, Peace and security Program (Phase 11) Funded by Government Norway comes to an end soon, the Women Mediation Network, WPS Media Network and HeForShe network share their success stories on how they have promoted women’s leadership in conflict prevention and mediation in kaduna communities.
Those who share their success story harvesting at the interactive session with women, Peace and Security (WPS) structures in kaduna state includes Barrister Rebecca Sako-John of kaduna Peace Commission, Chikun Local government representatives, and eight other local Government Areas representatives.
Others are WPS media network, HeForShe network, Women Mediation Network.
Their success story is center around conflict resolution, Security, Peace, leadership roles for women in their various communities.
Speaking during the interactive session, Programme Manager of WPS, UN Women, Mr Peter Mancha said that their programs is gender friendly,
He said that the program has been able to increase women’s leadership and meaningful participation in conflict prevention and mediation.
National Programme Officer of WPS, UN Women Amina Bello-Akano urged the women to continue to work as a team.
According to her, I urge you to continue to work as a team, I’m also impressed with the outcome of the program.
“You are the one living in those areas and you need to take it serious, be proactive, she advised.
“Celebrate what you have achieved in the past years and let it continue to be part of you”.
