Tracereporters –An NGO, Eagle Brain Human Right Organization has secured justice for Mr. Thompson Emmanuel who worked as a welder in a Turkish company, Motech United Industry Limited, one of the companies maintaining the Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC), was smashed on his head repeatedly with a helmet by Mr Gencayl, the Personnel Manager of the company leading to injury in one of his eyes.
Securing the justice, chairman of the NGO Mr. Daniel Ejembi in a press interview with newsmen in kaduna said their client is satisfied with the outcome of their engagement with Motech United Industry Limited.
He said when the case was reported to the organization, they immediately took it up, protest to the company and the Personnel Manager Mr Gencayl was immediately suspended after investigation.
According to him, “Actually when the case was reported to us immediately we signed into action to make sure we get the first hand information on what led to the brutalization and after we got the information,
“We confronted the Motech United Industry Limited and asked why our citizen would be brutally injured to the extent that his visions were affected at the first time,
“We waited for a talk with them, they promised to talk, and there was no information forth coming so we had to proceed with legal actions till they conveyed a meeting and we discussed at length and they agreed to our terms and conditions to the joy of Emmanuel and he’s the victim, giving the honors flys on him to either accept their plead or to disagree but to God be the glory he was convinced with their offer and he was adequately compensated and he’s happy with it, so who are we to continue the case.
“We need to actually let the issue lie.
We’re just here to make sure citizens are not violated, their right are not violated and also to stand by any citizen that associate themselves with us.
“My advice to citizens is that they should actually voice out no matter the intimidation, to also reach out to people that can fight their course irrespective of where they come from, We are just here to correct the wrong of the society. They have right to everything and these are things we want to correct we want the citizens to know that they have a right to be protected and whoever violated that right must pay dearly for it.
“My message to all those foreign internationals that are here to work in Nigeria is that our citizens are not slaves to them, they must be able to respect the law, they must be able to respect the individual right of association and right to complain, they cannot subdue them just because they are less privileged, nobody has that right to violate other right.
Speaking with the media, the victim, Mr Thompson Emmanuel said the case has been settled adding that his satisfied with the outcome of the meeting.
According to him, “Now we have settled the case, the case has been settled that’s why I came back to announce to everybody that the case have been settled, We’re okay with what happened it really touched everybody,
“Everyone felt for me they took the matter to court, from there the media people stood by me i really appreciate them. But now the case have been settled out of court I really appreciate the media people, all their effort for me to get justice, i really appreciate them thank you so much God bless you.
“I’ve gotten justice, I’m okay with the judgement and everything, with the settlement am okay with that thank you,
For now, the condition that the doctor told me am in, I have to stay back home for one month to observe the eye and the chest which is the most important place in the body. By God’s grace January I’ll be back to my feet.
