Tracereporters –Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams has said that not fewer than 600 bags of fertilizer, will be distributed to farmers in his constituent to bolster agricultural produce and to cushion the effects of food shortage and starvation in the area.
Ekene stated this in Kaduna, during a roundtable meeting held in commemoration of his one year anniversary in office.
He stated that the initiative as part of his campaign promises is a developmental projects in an effort to carry every member of his constituent along, without any form of discrimination.
The Lawmaker represented by his Director General, (DG) Campaign Office, Mr. Ezekiel Samuel was reacting to the earlier request by a Constituent Member, Mr. Mikati Dennis urging the Lawmaker not to focus only on donating transformers but to also looked at the plight of farmers in the constituency.
Ekene in his response revealed that they have allocated provisions for at least, six hundred (600) bags of fertilizers, which will soon be distributed to the constituents so that they can take advantage of the rainy season and thereafter make food available for themselves and the people.
Abubakar, a Member representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency and House Committee Chairman on Sports, Federal House of Representatives also reiterated his unwavering support to indigent members of his constituent, adding that “the support for farmers was crucial for food security and economic growth in the local community.
“This distribution of fertilisers would go a long way in improving crop yields and ultimately the income of farmers. It would also alleviate the financial burden of purchasing fertilisers as well as promoting sustainable agriculture practices in the Constituency.” He said.
