Tracereporters -Four political parties and their candidates have step down for the All Progressive Congress candidate, Mr Jesse David Tanko in the February 3, 2024 by- election in Chikun Constituency of the Kaduna State House of Assembly.
The four candidates are Zipporah Samuel Bijeh of Accord party, David Sunday of ZLP, Idris Inuwa of SDP and David Ogah Batholomew of APGA.
The spokesman of the four candidates, Idris Inuwa, while addressing newsmen in Kaduna on Thursday, said of all the candidates contesting for the State House of Assembly, only one of them would emerge winner at the end of the day, hence their understanding to step down and support the candidate of APC that has bright future in the coming election on Saturday.
He explained, “In view of the sterling leadership qualities so far expressed by governor Uba Sani in Kaduna state, we are of the conviction that with APC at the State House of Assembly, lobbying for projects and other things that will benefit our people will be easier to get, hence our coming together to support the APC candidate to victory in the coming election on Saturday.”
He added, “We enter the contest to represent Chikun for our people to enjoy the dividends of democracy and among the candidates, we believed APC candidate can do that. So we felt the need to support him to win the election. Governor Uba Sani has so far demonstrated unparallel commitment to develop the state and carry everyone along, we need a House member to be in the same political party with the governor for easy enjoyment of the dividends of democracy in our constituency.”
He expressed confident that the emergence of Jesse David Tanko would ensure the realization of the desired goals in Chikun Constituency following his commitment, exposure and determination to bring the people together and ensured true representation at the State House of Assembly if elected.
The candidate of Accord party, Zipporah Samuel Bijeh, stated that the victory of the APC candidate would be a victory for all in Chikun local government area hence their resolved to support his candidature to victory in the Saturday, February 3, 2024 by-election in the local government.
