Tracereporters –The attention of the media coordinating office of the immediate past governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Bello Muhammad, Matawallen Maradun MON, Barden Hausa, has described as misleading, a statement issued by Zamfara state government, with a headline “RE: COURT ORDERS RETRIEVAL OF OFFICIAL VEHICLES TAKEN AWAY BY BELLO MATAWALLE”.
A statement by the media coordinator of the former governor, Ibrahim Dosara, also described the caption as fraud and a pervasive lie against the court, pointing out that it is tantamount to contempt of court.
“There is no where in the judgment delivered by the Federal High Court, Sokoto judicial Division, on Friday in the suit filed by the immediate past governor, Bello Muhammad on the breach of his fundamental rights and that of his family, by the present government of Zamfara State under Dauda Lawal, who ordered for the forceful breaking of the former governor’s residences in Gusau and his home town, Maradun, carting away his property and those of his family, including 50 vehicles donated to him and the presidential candidate then, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, by friends and well-wishers for campaign, being Bello, the North West coordinator for Tinubu/Shetima Campaign.
“In view of the above, I am challenging the Governor to release any of the Court documents, which gave the order for the retrieval of the retrieve the vehicles in question.
“What the Federal High Court Sokoto Judicial Division did was to dismiss the case filed by the former Governor, following his decision to withdraw the case after series of advice and consultations with family, friends, political associates and supporters.
“According to the Gov ‘s press statement, “A Federal High Court in Sokoto dismissed a suit filed by former governor Bello Matawalle over ownership of taken away official vehicles.”
“Then where did the order of retrieving the vehicles came from? The court did not order for retrieving of the said vehicles, but only dismissed the case filed by the former governor.
“Well, it isn’t surprising, considering the type of government being run by Governor Dauda Lawal, where administrative contractors were hired from outside the state with no knowledge of our state politics and culture to administer the government for the Governor while he engages in his private businesses outside the country, leaving the people of the state at the mercy of bandits.
“Since it is the central focus of the Dauda Lawal’s government, to waste its precious time in witch-hunting his predecessor, the operators of the government are looking for any opportunity to go on a media trial to justify their government’s lack of focus, mission and direction.
“This is why the Governor’s ADC, Chief Security Officer and the CSO, Civil Defence, ordered the retrieving of the vehicles from the premises of the Court, (where the vehicles were parked on its order), to the Government House without the prior official order to do so by the Federal High Court, Sokoto judicial Division, which is tantamount to contempt of the court”.
