Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Hajiya Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe who spoke at the Commissioning of Covid-19 intervention complex named after the late Professor Jika, Administrative block name after the late Professor Ahmed, Emergency blocks name after Brigadier General Lawal Jaafar Issa, NHIA Clinic, toxicology Ward, Service bay and Maintenance Block, School of Post-Basic Psychiatric Nursing Block of Classrooms, Alternative Power Supply solar electricity, Electronic Health Record, redesigned Main Entrance gate yesterday noted that the provision of affordable, accessible and qualitative healthcare delivery to the masses is one of the paramount responsibilities of government to the people stressing that the present administration of Kaduna State led by Governor Uba Sani is ready to support the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital so that citizens can be in good shape physically and mentally to carry out their daily activities.
Also speaking at the commissioning, His Highness, Ambassador Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli , the Emir Of Zazzau maintained that Aishatu has proved to the World that Arewa Women are no shovers
The royal father of the day who went down memory lane said while knowing the Medical Director in her younger days might be mere gainsaying due to age difference, he was quite conversant with the popular Armiya’u family of Katsina as they lived in the same neighbourhood with his own parents on Waff Road, Kaduna many years ago.
The traditional ruler said the same area he was talking about is where the Kaduna Shopping Mall , Shoprite is located today.
The permanent secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, Engineer Adebiyi Olusesan Olufunso who was represented by a director in the ministry, Dr. Jimoh Salahudeen said it is a welcomed development that FNPH, Kaduna is now a one – top healthcare facility where Nigerians can assess qualitative medical care aside its primary constituency of mental health.
Earlier Dr. Aishatu Armiya’u stated that the commissioning of Covid-19 intervention complex is named after the late professor jika, administrative block name after the late Professor Ahmed, emergency blocks name after Brigadier General Lawal Jaafar Issa, NHIA Clinic, toxicology Ward, Service bay and Maintenance Block, School of Post-Basic Psychiatric Nursing Block of Classrooms, Alternative Power Supply solar electricity, Electronic Health Record as well as redesigned Main Entrance gate to the Hospital.
Dr. Aishatu maintained that the hospital decentralized services and moved from an era of standalone psychiatric hospital to offering general services such as basic medical services, antenatal care, radio imaging and dialysis services in our quest to beat the critical health need of our people. This has brought about notable reduction in stigma and discrimination of the mentally challenged individuals, the milestones we have recorded so far is a testimony of conviction of building resilience and hope in the life of our patients and staff as depicted in the lives of two important persons.
