Tracereporters –The people of Romi-Karatudu and Pro. Amos Road in Janruwa New Extension communities in Chikun Local Government Area of kaduna state have commended Governor Uba Sani for awarding road construction in the areas.
The commendation was made by the communities where the Public Relation Officer (PRO) Comrade Duniya Victor who spoke on behalf of the people, said they were overwhelmed with joy on Governor Uba Sani’s intervention on the road, saying that for decades the communities have no access road.
Comrade Duniya Victor said Governor Uba Sani has brought spontaneous recovery thereby driven home a bold statement that all inclusive governance has kicked-off in Chikun Local Government Area.
He said Gov. Uba Sani’s administration has now shifted its attention to delivering Urban renewal to the grassroots and Chikun Local Government Area will witness tremendous projects of different magnitudes as the journey continues.
According to him, “In fulfillment of the campaign promise of consolidation and continuity, In the early days in office of His Excellency; Sen Uba Sani the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, it came to our notice we the people of Chikun Local Government Area the cheering news of the award of contracts for the construction of Romi-Karatudu Road and Pro. Amos Road in Janruwa New Extension.
“As contained in the statement, “Romi-Karatudu Road spans 6 kilometers and is expected to be completed within 12 months, while Pro. Amos Road in Janruwa New Extension spans 0.7 kilometers and is expected to be completed within 6 months.”
“The statement hence, emphasized that the projects are critical to improvement of transportation in the city, enhance drainage systems, and bring urban renewal to the grassroots. This is indeed a pleasing news to the residents of the two affected communities and the entire Chikun Local Government Area. This singular act has sent a signal that consolidation and sustaining Kaduna project is possible with His Excellency; Sen Uba Sani and that Kadunites will live to attest to it.
“It’s not out of place to say that though there have been pockets of projects initiated by the outgone Governor His Excellency, Mal. Nasir Ahmad El-Rufa’i led administration in Chikun Local Government Area, yet, due to the high developmental deficit vis-à-vis the population and size of the Local Government Area, it is like a drop of water in an Ocean.
“It is imperative to point the fact that most residents of Chikun Local Government Area felt neglected in the Urban Renewal Programme. The newly sworn-in administration of His Excellency, Sen. Uba Sani by this initiative, has brought spontaneous recovery thereby driven home a bold statement that all inclusive governance has kicked-off in Chikun and that Gov. Uba Sani’s administration has now shifted its attention to delivering Urban renewal to the grassroots and Chikun Local Government Area will witness tremendous projects of different magnitudes as the journey continues.
“Considering the strategic location of Chikun Local Government Area in Kaduna metropolis; its proximity to the city centre, and the predominant occupation of the residents, who are mostly civil servants and artisans, (the real drivers of the economy of the heart of Northern Nigeria i.e Kaduna) whose daily contributions are indispensable for greater economic break-through in the State, it is safe to say that, the Governor has demonstrated vis-a-vis leaving no one in doubt that he understands the importance of creating enabling environment for businesses to strive and is willing to do that with all sense of equity and fairness.
“We applaud the Kaduna Capital Territory Authority for foresight and not only identifying the crucial need of these two communities but taking decisive measure that has solutions to the need. Currently in these communities, due to absence of proper drainage systems, the two roads are almost inaccessible, especially during this raining season, commuters will have to make a detour through longer routes in order to reach their destination. These projects will take away the dilemma that residents have been into, especially students.
“During the campaigns of the just concluded 2023 general elections, we advocated for the election of Sen. Uba Sani to take over as successor of Mal. Nasiru El-Rufa’I, against all odds looking at good track records Distinguished Sen Uba Sani has kept as a first termer at the National Assembly (a Senator that Represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District). We envisaged prospects associated to his candidature more than any other candidate and our endorsement of His Excellency Sen Uba Sani as our most preferred Candidate was guided by merit,c competence and capacity as modus operandi for such resolution. Our conviction on Sen Uba Sani did informed us that he will demonstrate the same (if not more than the) quantum of doggedness he demostrated in the ninth Senate into governance in Kaduna State and with this, we can say that Kaduna State will expect a non-negotiable fruitful leadership.
“More so, Sen. Uba Sani himself transverse the length and breath of Kaduna State, through; listening to community leaders, women and Youth groups on their aspirations, he in turn made promises to the good people of Kaduna State. Though many doubted his sincerity and commitment in fulfilling such promises, he was even confronted in some places, yet God granted him victory alas. His Excellency, has in another dimension shown magnanimity in Victory going by the recent appointments into his cabinet and the award of these contracts and many more as been leaked to us.
“We therefore, use this medium to sincerely express our profound gratitude to His Excellency; the Executive Governor of Kaduna State for considering Chikun Local Government Area among the first Local Government Areas to enjoy the dividends of democracy under your stewardship and as a group we shall continue to mobilize our people to give the Sen Uba Sani led administration unwavering support so much that the administration will triumph and bring to reality the Kaduna State of our dreams.
“However, like Oliver Twist, we use this medium to appeal to the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency; Sen. Uba Sani never to relent in sharing such dividends across the State and as such consider other areas of Chikun Local Government Area and the rural areas in Southern Kaduna and other parts of Kaduna State in the subsequent interventions in order to give everyone a sense of belonging and to also reduce uneven development in the State. We never even for once doubted your capacity which we better tagged as ‘Political Will’ because your records are there in sand of history. We are also praying that God should grant you the requisite grace to fulfill all promises you made to Kadunites. Amen.

Also speaking to journalists is Peter Maigemu- Mai Ungwa tsakiya Romi, said he was overwhelmed and praise Governor Uba Sani for awarding the road construction.
Mai Ungwa tsakiya Romi however appreciated governor Uba Sani and assured him of the communities support.
Also speaking is Mrs Sinum Hassan said it was like a dream come true and also appealed governor Uba Sani to look into the issue of portable water in the communities.
She said the road construction projects aim to improve transportation in the communities, enhance drainage systems and bring urban renewal to the grassroots.
