Tracereporters –The long abandoned 18-Seaters Toyota Hiace Bus of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna council, has been revived by the leadership of Asma’u Yawo Halilu.

The feat came to reality with the support of the Nigerian Breweries plc, with the aim to easing the movement of the union’s members, especially during official functions.

Presenting the vehicle to the leadership of the Union on Thursday at the NUJ Secretariat, the Corporate Affairs Manager; Nigerian Breweries Plc, Mr. Kabiru Kassim explained that Kaduna NUJ have been a veritable partner of the NB plc for over 50 years.

” The idea to refurbish the vehicle was conceived during a media parley with the NUJ in 2021, hence the need to refurbish the vehicle. So, what is happening here today is a dream come to true,” the Corporate Affairs Manager explained.

In her remarks, the Chairman of the Union, Asma’u Yawo Halilu thanked the NB plc for its support in refurbishing the 14-Seaters’ Bus, which according to her will be used by the Council and her members accordingly.

” We are very happy and appreciative of the NB Plc gesture. And this will no doubt further cemented the already established relationship between the company and the Union,” Asma’u said.

The Chairman of the Council, while speaking, also assured the company of proper maintenance of the vehicle by the Council and its members.

Asma’u however, urged other companies to emulate the Nigerian Breweries by supporting the Union through their various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the actualization of other pending projects of the Union.
