Tracereporters –The Governorship Candidate of National Rescue Movement (NRM) has distanced self from the statement by a group calling for the cancellation of the last governorship election which declared the APC Governorship Candidate as the elected Governor of Kaduna State.
In a press statement made available to Tracereporters, the NRM Governorship candidate, Salihu Gambo Abubakar made it clear that he was not aware of any group called Kaduna State Rescue and Rebuild Governorship Candidates Forum, that made the call and that his party and his humble self were included without his knowledge and consent.
According to him, “I am surprised that my party, the NRM featured in a statement by a pseudo group which goes by the name Kaduna State Rescue and Rebuild Governorship Candidates Forum.
“As a bonafide member of the Kaduna State Governors Forum I am not aware that such group exists within our fold. Whatever is the intention of the chairman of the group; I have no hand in it and would be forced to seek legal redress from him for including my party in the release.
The NRM Governorship candidate however, declared his acceptance of the final outcome of the results of the election and recognized Distinguish Senator Uba Sani as the duly elected governor of Kaduna State.
“When the result was announced, I was among the first callers to congratulate the APC Governorship candidate for his victory.
It was a hotly contested battle, which every sane mind would discern its fair level ground. The election has been free and fair and among the best ever conducted in the state, away from the usual rancor and violence that characterized the previous ones.
The people of Kaduna State had spoken by the outcome of the election. What is needed now is the support of all irrespective of political differences to join hands and build the Kaduna state of our dream.” said the NRM Governorship Candidate.
The NRM Governorship Candidate had before the election withdrew from the governorship race and declared his support for Uba Sani and called for his supporters to throw their weight behind the APC Governorship candidate to ensure his victory.
It will be recalled that the Kaduna State Rescue and Rebuild Governorship Candidates Forum Rejected the just concluded gubernatorial elections.
