Tracereporters –A group of Northern pressure group has called for caution and restraint saying that recent statements credited to the Emir of Daura, Umar Faruk Daura and a former minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Sani Zango Daura , was on called for.
Reacting to an online poll by one Babangida, which predicted victory for the Peoples Democratic party( PDP), in the forthcoming presidential election in Sokoto, Kaduna, Bauchi and other currently governed by the All Progressive Congress ( APC), in Abuja on Saturday, the group leader Dr. Haruna Garus Gololo , described the comments and prediction as self serving saying ” It is not based on any scientific research . You just sit in one corner of your room like some media Houses who have been predicting victory for PDP and the Labour party ( LP) , without going to the field , as if the All Progressive Congress ( A PC) , candidates is there sleeping. Apart from the power of incumbency in some states where they are predicting victory for the oppositions in states like Kaduna state, Katsina, Kebbi, Bauchi , Adamawa and Yobe state the opposition have never won elections there since 1999″

Recall that the Emir of Daura, Umar Faruk Daura and a former minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Zango Daura had at different fora called on the North to vote for their own.
The statements have continue to generate reactions across the North, but Gololo said” The Emir of Daura had not done anything unusual, as a father anybody or candidate that go to him as matter of honour he must pray and endorse such candidate. He endorsed Rotimi Ameachi, gave him traditional title preparatory to the primary, did he win the primary?'”
” So we are not moved by such inflammatory statement and endorsements. Meaningful Northerners are behind Tinubu and we will deliver ”
