President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) Musa Nimrod

By Lola Seriki Idahosa, Trace Reporters –The President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) Musa Nimrod has expressed strong optimism on the chances of Nigeria securing qualification for next month Tokyo 2020 games as the players continue to actively engage themselves in readiness for the Olympic qualifiers. 

Nimrod says with the way players want to develop themselves on their own he is sure this will help boost their chances of doing well.

Nimrod expressed this, when addressing Swan members at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS) during the technical session ahead of the serving off of the 2021 President Beach Volleyball Senior Male/Female and U-19 Boys and Girls Cup at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS), Kaduna on Monday.

According to him, “We are trying our best to see that we we go to Tokyo, I see our players love the game with passion than finance, these are young children, young players.

“Alot of our players are already developing themselves on their own, their love for the game is getting higher and people are getting interested in the game.

“We are praying to God Almighty to open the doors for us, now that we want to go to the beach volleyball in Morrocco 27th June, we are praying for Nigeria to qualify, we really look forward for total support from Nigerians.

He said that after the president beach cup, “we are going for international camp in West Africa so that we can prepare our team.

On what is expected at the beach volleyball competition, he said the players and officials are in high spirits and are expected to put up a good show.

“Within the next three days we will see massive competition taking place both day and night.
“We are already preparing to go to camp in Ghana because we want to get Africa sole ticket.

“We are ready for African countries, we are not happy we missed ticket for Rio Dejaneiro,” he submitted.
