Senator Uba Sani Empowers Police Officer's Widows, Orphans in kaduna

Trace Reporters –The senator representing Kaduna Central, Uba Sani, has made a donation of two million naira to widows, orphans in the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA).

 

Senator Uba Sani share photos and a statement of the activities of the event on his Facebook page revealed that the cash donation was made by the senator during the Annual Empowerment Programme of POWA in Kaduna on Saturday.

 

‘This donation was made as a compassionate  support for women who have lost their husbands to the active service of the Federal Republic of Nigeria while protecting the nation,’

 

Senator Uba Sani, who is the Senate Committee Chairman on Banking, Insurance  and other Financial Institutions, also pledged to make ample use of his humanitarian organisation – the Uba Sani Foundation – to facilitate POWA members’ inclusion as beneficiaries  of the Federal Government’s  Special Intervention Funds.

 

He commiserated with the widows while consoling them over the loss of their breadwinners, stressing that the officers gave their lives to defending the nation.

 

According to the statement, “Today, I was a Special Guest at the Annual Empowerment Programme of the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) held in Kaduna. The event was organized to review POWA’s activities, fashion new strategies and also distribute relief materials to widows and orphans.

 

 “I commended POWA for its remarkable service in the promotion and protection of the welfare of widows and orphans of departed police officers and men. POWA is now a well respected voice in Nigeria and is setting higher goals for itself. POWA is breaking new grounds due to the exemplary leadership of the National Chairperson, Hajiya Aisha U.M Muri. She deserves our total support as she strives to better the lot of widows and orphans of our fallen police officers and men.
“I promised to engage and work with other members of the National Assembly on issues concerning the settlement of entitlements of deceased police officers and men in order to lessen the suffering of their families. We shall also fast-track bills that will enhance the welfare of serving police officers and men and take care of eventualities or unforeseen circumstances.
“I also assured POWA that the Uba Sani Foundation will partner with the National Body, and in particular the Kaduna State Chapter, in order to develop the financial skills of their members and put them in good stead to access the social investment programmes of the Federal Government.
“I donated the sum of N2 Million to Kaduna State Chapter of POWA to assist them in the execution of their 2021 programme.

‘The highly-elated and joyful women thanked the Senator for his giant strides and compassionate support for their members  and assured of  continuous support,’ the statement indicated.

 

In their response during the event, POWA leaders took turns to congratulate the senator for what they variously described as his numerous achievements since he assumed office, emphasising that he has surpassed his predecessors in terms of legislative performance.
