Sanwo-Olu Declares 24hrs Curfew As Hoodlums Set Orile-Iganmu Police Station On Fire
Trace Reporters –Lagos State governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday imposed 24 hours in the State.
This followed the outbreak of violence that greeted the #EndSARS protests in some parts of the State on Tuesday morning.
The statement reads as follow:
*CURFEW IN LAGOS* Dear Lagosians,I have watched with shock how what began as a peaceful #EndSARS protest has degenerated into a monster that is threatening the well-being of our society. Lives and limbs have been lost as criminals and miscreants are now hiding under the umbrella of these protests to unleash mayhem on our State.
As a government that is alive to its responsibility and has shown a commitment to the movement #ENDSARS, we will not watch and allow anarchy in our dear state.
I, therefore, hereby impose a 24-hour curfew on all parts of the State as from 4pm today, 20th October,2020.Nobody, except essential service providers and first responders must be found on the streets.

A group of people suspected to be hoodlums have burnt down the police station situated in Orile-Iganmu Local Government Area of Lagos State.
The police station services both Iganmu Community in Apapa Iganmu and Orile Community in Coker/Aguda.
The rampaging hoodlums were said to have broke into police armoury and took away arms and ammunition before setting the police station ablaze.
It is yet unclear the demands of the hoodlums who set the police station ablaze which occurred around 09.45 am.
Many #End SARS protesters have fled the scene of protest after pandemonium broke out.
As at the time of filing this report, police authorities in the State, have mobilise to stop the attacks from spreading.
reports that Edo State on Monday afternoon imposed a curfew in the State after hoodlums broke into two Correctional Centres and four police stations in the State, freeing detained criminal suspects and prisoners.
