AMDF Felicitates With Pathfinder International At 55

Trace Reporters –Africa  Media Development Foundation (AMDF) felicitates with Pathfinder International as it celebrates 55 years of saving and changing lives, especially those of Women and Girl’s Reproductive Health in Nigeria.

Pathfinder International is a leading international non-governmental organization working to improve reproductive health around the world. Pathfinder currently supports activities in 26 countries in Africa, Asia, Near East and Latin America.

Since 1965, Pathfinder International Nigeria has taken a comprehensive approach to develop and implement programmes that focus on family planning, reproductive health services, maternal and new-born health, adolescent activities, as well as HIV and AIDS.

Pathfinder  has indeed impacted lives through its various projects including Family planning and reproductive health services; Household-level water, sanitation, and hygiene; Community-based activities and outreach through investing in community health workers; Immunizations for mothers and young children; Maternal and young child nutrition.

The organization has supported Development Journalism Conference and Training activities to encourage journalists to promote issues of development in hard to reach communities.

AMDF also acknowledges the organization’s effort in engaging journalists in its approaches to effectively pass the message of family planning across Nigeria.

Consequently, Pathfinder International set up a family planning media advocacy working group in Lagos, and has been actively working with journalists in Kaduna, Niger, Plateau, Gombe and Benue states.

AMDF therefore, commends Pathfinder International for breaking the grounds in sexual reproductive health in Nigeria against all odds and bringing hope to women and girls and by extension families, communities and the society as a whole.
