SWAN President Aigbona Congratulates Amokachi Over Appointment As SA On Sports To Buhari
Trace Reporters –The Sports Writers’ Association of Nigeria (SWAN); an affiliate of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has congratulated the former Super Eagles star, Daniel Amokachi; a.k.a ‘Da Bull’ on his recent appointment as the Special Assistant on Sports to President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Association described his choice for the job as a well deserved appointment, lauding the President for appointing a well grounded sportsman for the position.
SWAN states this in a statement jointly signed by the President of the Association, Comrade Ahmed Aigbona and the Secretary General, Comrade Mike Oboh and made available to newsmen on Friday morning.
In the statement, Aigbona further explained that the former Eagles star has tremendously contributed to the development of the country, considering his antecedents.
” As Sports Writers, we are very happy that a grounded sportsman of his calibre has been given the opportunity to advise the President on all sports matters.
” SWAN is very optimistic of his commitment, dedication and patriotism in the discharge of his duty as it is expected of him as the Special Assistant on Sports.” The statement reads
The SWAN President prays for smooth stay in office as Special Assistant to the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria on Sports.
Recall that the former Everton of England player was earlier in the year named Nigeria’s Football Ambassador.
