SWAN President Aigbona Lauds NFF’s Sincerity Over Planned Disbursement of Palliatives To All Stakeholders
Trace Reporters –The National Secretariat of the Sports Writers’ Association of Nigeria (SWAN), an affiliate of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has lauded the leadership of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for considering SWAN and other stakeholders in its ‘ Restart Funds Distribution (RFD).
The association described the sincerity and transparency of the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF, as captured in the list on how the palliatives funds are to be distributed among the stakeholders, as a welcome development.
“As we thank the Sponsors, Partners, CAF, FIFA and NFF for this gesture, we are assuring NFF of our total commitment towards ensuring that the 30,000 dollars allocated to SWAN will be disbursed accordingly among members across the chapters in the 36 states of the federation and the FCT,” the SWAN President, Comrade Ahmed Aigbona, noted.
He added that the allocated amount would go a long way in alleviating the hardship brought about by the novel coronavirus among SWAN members and other stakeholders as captured on the NFF RFD list.
Aigbona who expressed satisfaction with the modalities for the disbursement stated that the gesture and the kind-hearted nature of NFF leadership would further cement a good working relationship with the beneficiaries.
Before now, SWAN has been embarking on COVID-19 sensitisation programmes, keeping the public abreast on the dangers of the disease and the preventive measures on how to curb the spread of the disease through “Press Releases”.
SWAN which was established on February 1 of 1964 has been a dependable partner of the NFF over the years, using its platforms to promote and market football in the country.
“It is on this note that we once again say a big ‘thank you’ to NFF, its leadership and its members across Nigeria and other partners across the world for the support to our noble association, SWAN.
“We are also using this medium to urge Nigerians to always keep to the preventive measures on COVID-19, as stated by the relevant authorities.”
