Tracereporters –A Christian leader who is from the tribe of Waja in Gombe State, Rev. Dr Abare Yunusa Kallah has called on the Waring communities of Waja and Lunguda in Adamawa state to sheath their swords for the sake of peace and tranquillity.
Abare said there has never existed any history of communal clash between the two tribes, the hard-earned harmonious and peaceful coexistence should not be destroyed for petty reasons.
The Clergy Man who doubles as the North East Zone Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN) Chairman,and Founder of Community Peace Dialogue And Interfaith Initiative in Press Release condemned the recent wanton destruction of lives and properties.
Yunusa a trained Peacebuilder and became the National Representative of OMNIA Institute for contextual leadership USA, a peace organization called on all sundry from Lunguda and Waja to look back with the eyes of wisdom never to allow such to exist again.
He appreciated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and his Gomber counterpart,Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya for setting up a committee to look into the matter and apt intervention.
“I wish to condemn in totality the recent uprising between Lungada and Waja tribes around Gyuk LGA in Adamawa State. I also wish to express gratitude to the urgent visit of the Governor of Adamawa State to the scene of the inferno to quickly raise a fact-finding committee of men of unquestionable integrity to look into the root cause of the crisis and profer solutions to the crisis.
“I also commend the intervention of the Governor of Gombe State for his apt action in calling for calm and support for the victims and sending security personnel to help calm down people.
” I use this medium to call on all and sundry especially Lunguda and Waja people to look back with the eye of the wisdom of the hard-earned peace and coexistence between our people to sustain it.
“All traditional rulers who are the custodian of our culture and heritage, religious leaders and youth and women groups and opinion leaders are responsible to ensure peace reign in our region.” Abare Said.
