Tracereporters –In an effort toward supporting women organization in the country with the aims of bringing an end to daily reports of rape cases and other domestic violence in the society.
The National president of a Non –Governmental organization “Peace Revival and reconciliation Foundation of Nigeria “pastor Yohanna Buru has paid a courtesy visit to the international federation of women lawyers FIDA kaduna state Branch , in order to strengthening them and also Thanks them on the daily battles toward reducing the menace of rape activities in the state.
According to the Christians cleric, To end rape culture, perpetrators must be held accountable for their crime irrespective of their position, wealth, ranks, recognition in the society , stressing that regardless of age or gender, the impact of sexual violence goes far beyond any physical injuries. Adding that They must face the law of the land.
He said, we recognize these acts as crimes and send a strong message of zero-tolerance across the 36 states of the country.
He said, There is need for Religious leaders, traditional title holders, scholars from tertiary institutes, Human right organization, child protection organization , and all civil society organization to equally support the campaign in both rural and urban cities across the 36 states of Nigeria to end the increasing violence against women and children in the society.
“Many men and boys suffer rape and sexual trauma each year,while so many are faces with psychological trauma,other are infected with sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV/Aid ETC”
He note that these evil and unpleasant happenings in our communities, our children, girls, and women are no longer safe.and hence the need to joined hands with FIDA and state government in raising voices, with the aims of bringing an end to this menace.
“The rapist has no regard for age, race, or social status, they killed and put many women and children into psychological problems, the trauma of being raped or sexually assaulted can be shattering, leaving you feeling scared, ashamed, and alone or plagued by nightmares, flashbacks, and other unpleasant memories at all the times.
“We must joined hands to end impunity and injustice to women and childrens in the society through the activities of rapist ”
The cleric also commended the effort of some states government on step-forward toward bringing an end to reduce the menace
He equally applaud the effort of police Inspector general for his report to the president on over 700 rape cases recorded in Nigerian.
Responding Zainab Atoba, President, FIDA, Kaduna state branch,says, there is the need to halt the activities of rapists in the state in view of the daily report of rape cases they received.
She note that, there are many women and childrens that are victims of such menace in their Homes and communities,, adding that even boys are not exempted from been rape by those criminals.
Zainab stressed the importance of joining hands with muslims and Christians scholars to raise more campaign at worship places in the states.
While calling on parents and guardians to always watch and monitor the movement of their daughters
She thanks The NGO for visiting them and to encourage them on the fight against rapist in the states which according to her, that is the primary objective of her organization, which is to promote ,protect and preservation of the rights of women and children which also include their civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights in the state.
She therefore said they are planning to take more campaign when covid 19 pandemic is over to schools,parks,football view centres on dangers of rape,so as to save lives of women and childrens in the society.
