Tracereporters –Kaduna State Medium Security Custodial Centre has accepted a convict Sadiq Mustaph who was initially not received by the centre.

The convict was taken to the centre by operatives of the EFCC last May but was not received by the official on duty as part of several measures being put in place to protect inmates from contacting the Corona Virus Pandemic as was confirmed by the Controller of Kaduna Correctional Service, Sanusi Danmusa.

The convict Sadiq Mustapha has spent fourteen days at the EFCC custody before he was taken to the Correctional Centre.

His acceptance came as a result of the re-opening of the custodial centre for admission of inmates in a statement issued by the Controller General of Correctional Services, Ja’afaru Ahmed this week said the action was to enhance access to justice and also to facilitate the administration of criminal justice in the country.

It will be recalled, that the anti graft agency secured a seven years prison term of Sadiq Mustapha without an option of fine before Justice Mallong Petter of the Federal High Court, Kaduna for obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of six million, one hundred thousand naira and operating illegal burea de change.
