Gov. Obaseki's Chief of staff, Special Adviser Tenders Resignation Letter

…As Governor removes Deputy Governor as COVID-19 response team Chairman_

Tracereporters –Following the report on rift between Edo state Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu and former speaker of the Edo Assembly Hon. Kabiru Adjoto, as it concerns sharing formula and supremacy.

The crisis rocking Obaseki’s camp seems to have taken another stage overnight as Obaseki has shown his displeasure by taking a first step of relieving his Deputy Philip Shaibu of his initial appointment as Chairman of Edo state COVID-19 response team.

Obaseki in an undisclosed meeting sometime ago blamed Phillip Shaibu for all the political crises in the state and for igniting his fight against the state party leaders and APC National Chairman Comr Adams Oshiomhole.

The Deputy Governor Philip shaibu is now left in a very difficult position seeming he’s already been blamed as the cause of the gradual downfall of the Governor’s camp, this obviously is leading to a disastrous end of the Governor’s political career, as his Chief of staff Comr. Taiwo Akerele and his special adviser on political affairs (Edo North) Kabiru Adjoto earlier today tendered their resignation letter to Gov. Obaseki.

It will be Recall that COS Taiwo Akerele before now had stated that he was not in support of the fight against Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and other party leaders.

As at the time of filing this report, resignation of Taiwo Akerele has been confirmed.

It is learnt that more appointees to the Governor in no distance time will follow suit in tendering their resignation letters.

Is this not the beginning of Obaseki’s failure, let’s watch as things unfold.

More details to follow.
