*pledges partnership with Guild of Online Journalists
Tracereporters.com …No fewer than 200 orphans in Nigeria are receiving N12,000 monthly from the Niasse International Foundation.
Executive Director of the foundation, Sheikh Muh’d Abdul-ahad Ibrahim Niasse disclosed this on Saturday in Kaduna, when some executives of the Guild of Online Journalists visited him on a courtesy call.
“It is an international organization aimed at continuing the good works of Sheikh Niasse.
“It supports both Christians and Muslims and presently supporting over 200 orphans with N12,000 monthly,” he said.
Speaking further, he said they are also committed to peace building in Nigeria as they organise dialogue for Muslims and Christians
“We give out Ramadan packages and meat during Eid. We are also hoping to build an orphanage in Kano,” he added.
On challenges being faced in the course of their activities, he explained that security during distribution of items to less privileged is their major challenge.
“We went to Jigawa with 1,200 cattle to share, but we could only share N1,000, as a result of security challenges.
“The remaining 200 we had to share in Kano to orphanages and the needy.
“In Jigawa, those who received dressed well, so the Europeans who donated the items and were observing were not too impressed, but in Kano it was basically the less privileged that benefited and they were happy.
“Those who came to monitor from abroad were not too happy that the distribution was not done orderly,” he stressed.
He pledged to work with the guild in giving the Foundation’s activities adequate publicity.
While welcoming the guild, Secretary Niasse International Foundation, Sayyada Ummahani S.Abdul-Ahad Ibrahim Niasse (RTA) explained that it was registered since November 2011.
“We are in All North West States, hoping to reach out to North East before covering all Nigeria.
“Niasse foundation has more than 200 physically challenged persons that we support.
“While distributing the cow, we normally share one cow to 7 people, so that they get enough meat to celebrate with.
“His father, Shiekh Niasse is well known all over the world and helped people who were need and even those not in need.
“He wants to continue the good work of his father and is doing so through the foundation,” she informed.
Speaking further, she said that they do nothing outside the aims and objectives of the foundation, seeking to assist orphans and other less privileged in the society.
Besides the humanitarian activities, she said they also run a school that takes care of over 700 students, drawn from all over Africa.
“Anywhere we go even outside Nigeria, we are out to support less privileged,” she stressed.
Earlier in his remarks, President of Guild of Online Journalists, Comrade Amos Mathew said that some executive members came from several parts of the country on the courtesy visit.
“We have read about the good works you have been doing and resolved at our executive session to visit and have first hand information, to help us prepare to honour you.
“We are impressed by what we have seen and heard and would communicate with you appropriately,” he said.
He also told the Niasse Foundation to partner the guild to give publicity to it’s activities.
