Tracereporters.com …Despite protests across Bayelsa State by supporters of the All Progressive Congress, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP candidate in the just concluded governorship election, Senator Douye Diri is about to be sworn in as the governor of the State.
The Governor will be sworn in with
his running mate, Mr. Lawrence Ewrujakpor by the State Chief Judge as the governor of Bayelsa State.
This will be in compliance with the Supreme Court Judgement that sacked the urchin David Lyon of All Progressives Congress, APC as governor elect.
To arrive at this outcomes, INEC had reworked the votes cast amongst the valid candidate.
The development gave a massive spread to Mr. Douye and his running mate, Mr. Lawrence.
Protesters had earlier blocked the entrance to Samson Siasia International Stadium in the state capital, vowing that the duo will never become governor and Deputy Governor of the state respectively.
But in a last minute arrangement, the venue had been changed to avoid violent clashes between the two parties.
