Governor Bello of Kogi State
Tracereporters.com –Kogi East Christian Elders Forum, North Central Nigeria, has condemned in the strongest terms the Nov. 16 , 2019 Governorship Election which was characterized by violence including loss of lives.
Consequently, the Forum rejects in its entirety , the conduct and eventual outcome of the “below-primitive charade,  called Election”.
The Elders stance is contained in a statement issued by their National President and National Coordinator, Pastor Joseph Egwuda and Engr. Samuel Salifu.
The Forum condemned the Conduct of INEC officials and security agencies.
“Equally shocking and immoral,  is the congratulatory message of the President who we know is in possession of all atrocious facts.
” The condemnation of the election by Civil Society groups, Local and foreign Observers, Nigerian Bar Association, USA, UK and EU and yet the President pretended that he didn’t see it”, the statement emphasized.
Other facts, the Forum said,  include reported violence with Police helicopters, shooting chemical weapons (tear gas) and killing the electorates who came to exercise their franchise in the State capital.
The Forum also noted with concern the continual killing of innocent citizens after the election, which it said ,  must stop.
According to the Forum, the pronouncement by a coalition of over 400 Civil rights Organizations under the aegis of Transition Monitoring Group that it would write the International Criminal Court at the Hague , Netherlands and other organs of the United Nations on the violence and killings which trailed the election attested to the Elders stance.
